If there's any questions you feel are missing in the FAQ, please tell me by either using the form in the
Feedback section or by mailing me (the address is at the bottom of the page).
Can I use your picture for [insert whatever reason here]?
Well. That totally depends on what you're gonna use it for. ALL the graphics and content of these pages is
copyrighted to me (except where noted), which means, that it's mine. So if you'd like to use anything here,
then please ASK. The worst thing that can happen is that I say no, but if you don't ask, how do you know
that the answer wouldn't be yes? Yes, this includes using my pictures on your web site, blog or whatever it
might be. So please: Ask. My e-mail address is at the bottom of the page, and the Feedback section can be
used for this as well.
Don't be scared, I don't bite. Well, not that much.
What kind of materials/programs do you use?
I tend to use HB mechanical pencils, preferably by Pentel, Pigma Micron
pens for inking, or any other pen I have available. Tria markers When it
comes to watercolors, I use whatever I got; Daler Rowney, Winsor & Newton,
Van Gogh... and whatever else I may have. For the digital pictures I use
Adobe Photoshop, and a Wacom tablet, yet I've also used Paint Shop Pro,
and before I got my tabled I was forced to use the mouse just like everyone
else.
What's the process you go thorough when making a picture (i.e. sketch, straight
to color. etc.)?
That really depends on the pictures. When drawing with a pencil I don't
always sketch, because the finished drawings might be what was supposed
to be the sketch, but I never really stopped drawing. But when I do drawings
in ink or color with markers I always sketch with a pencil first, and sometimes
end up doing the inking directly on the sketch and then erase all the lines.
The pictures done in watercolor are transferred to aquarelle paper, and
then colored, and sometimes the lines are enforced with ink or black paint
because I feel it's needed. I also tend to ink directly on the sketches
of the pictures I color digitally, but that depends on how satisfied I am
with the sketch. If I'm happy with the sketch I often end up transferring
it to another sheet of paper, sometimes I don't even end up inking the picture
and just end up coloring the sketch, or a somewhat sketchy picture.
How much time do you spend on each picture?
Hard to say really, because every picture is different. It might take a long time before I'm happy with a picture, yet sometimes
I get happy with it after just a little while. So I'm sorry, there's no real way of telling, besides I don't time myself when working
on a picture, because sometimes I do several things at the same time, so I can't say that I've been drawing for as long as it
seems.
Who are you influenced by?
Guess it's safe to say that one of the biggest influences I've had is Wendy Pini, though I'm not sure if you can notice that by
looking at my pictures. But it was after I read ElfQuest that I started drawing fantasy stuff, mostly elves, but that was just a
starting point to what finally lead my to what I'm doing now.
Where do you get the idea for your pictures from?
I really wish I could answer that, but I can't. All too often it just pops into my head. Or I feel like drawing something, not
totally knowing what, and it just ends up the way it does.
